old claims/deleting

Post by ALI » Thu May 26, 2016 1:16 pm

This might be a silly question...but I noticed the other day that I've got claims dating back to 2008....is there is reason why I should not delete them?

Thanks, Ali

Hi Ali that is up to you. Once the data is purged you cannot get it back. When you are done with a Case and it is zero balance, you can mark it Closed. Then in file maintenance, you can purge your zero balance closed cases based on how old they are.

One thing to do is make sure they are marked done and then on claims list make sure to exclude done. So at least they dont show up.

Hi Gavin, After a case has been closed, but not purged, how do you get back to it, if necessary? I tried the archive manager, but that said no qualifying cases or something like that.

You can either right click and select the option Show Closed Cases or go to program options and turn off the option to hide inactive items.

Gavin,
Since we can't collect any $ from over one year old claims is there a way to purge all data over two years old? I'd really like to not have to zero out all these prior years. We are using V20 and I'd like to have only years 2017 and 2016 in my database. I inherited this position and learning as I go!
Thanks - Debbie

In Medisoft v21 there is a write-off utility. This is available in all editions of Medisoft.

Gavin,
The place I am employed has two business sites (one is remote using Logmein) and needs one more Medisoft user license. Have two and needs to have three. I believe he should stay current by upgrading from V20 to V21. Today he uses a local company that doesn't give support as you do with this forum,,,,all questions cost! Would you be interested in giving us a quote?
Thanks - Debbie
