McKesson Acquires SendClaim, LLC

On Wednesday, July 1, 2009, McKesson acquired the assets of SendClaim, LLC, including all intellectual property and the SendClaim sales and support staff who now report through McKesson’s Physician Practice Solutions (PPS) group as part of the Medisoft/Lytec business. McKesson purchased SendClaim to provide the next level of integrated electronic claim management functionality for its Medisoft and Lytec practice management solutions. McKesson is also evaluating opportunities to use SendClaim to enhance its RelayHealth offering and other PPS solutions.

We are excited to offer the expanded EDI capabilities that SendClaim brings to Medisoft and Lytec – in particular pre-claim editing and improved EDI reporting. However, Medisoft must first complete a tremendous amount of post-acquisition work before this can happen. Medisoft is working to complete the integration as quickly as possible.

SendClaim is a strategic investment that will help make EDI a core competency of the Medisoft/Lytec business. We recognize that although the physician practice market is focused on electronic health record (EHR) technology with the impending economic stimulus incentive payments, we have a large base of physician customers who continue to experience financial challenges due to a variety of market factors. With SendClaim solutions, we can help you get paid more quickly and accurately.
