v19 basic HELP!

Post by wsm » Mon Apr 06, 2015 6:46 pm

Been filing the paper claims using cms 1500 form (08-05). went in program options - data entry - # of diagnoses - and changed from 4 to 8. works for the new form but when I switched back to 4 DX's and try to print a claim on the old forms the program prints the 4 DX's in the wrong place. Like it's stuck in the new claim mode or something. I have a-lot of these forms I would like to use while I still can. Anyone know how to fix this?

You need to switch to the 2/12 version of the form or risk getting claim rejections.

yes I plan on doing that, but was wondering why I used to be able to bill using the other claim form and now I can't.

Probably because you are selecting a different report template when you are printing your claims. The ones with 2/12 in their name are for the new form

You are using a customized version of a report template that originally had 2/12 in its name.

I designed my own but don't remember which template I used, maybe new cms 1500?

It is something with your custom report template. Go back to one of the report templates that came with Medisoft designed for the 8/05 version of the CMS-1500 form and it will print out correctly. For example try CMS - 1500 (Primary).

Yes it will now print with the old form. Thank you. Found a new problem while checking the other templates, on some I get an error "The field practice ID Number is missing. Please modify report" when I try to print using these templates. How do I fix this?

If you used a version of Medisoft that was older than v16 then any custom claim report will need to be modified to work with the new PINs grid that was introduced. I have found it is easier to start with one of the report templates that came with Medisoft and make any customizations needed to that claim report template.

I see, thanks again for all your help. All azcomp would do is refer me to their support and they wanted to charge me over $100/ hour. I will not forget you.
