The MedUtils seems to be giving us major problems. At first we could log-in and select some data tables to copy but it would error out with io error 53. Then we couldn't log-in at all and would get the 'Can not start utility: error opening practice'. Now, that is all we get. But it seemed to cause other problems as well. Medisoft, all of the sudden, couldn't see the database. My IT guy finally rebuilt the ads.ini and got Medisoft back up and running. MedUtils has always worked for us in the past but now, something has gone south with it.
Thanks Gavin
Christopher

MediUtils is buggy and can leave the wrong indexes in place depending on the circumstances. Always run a backup prior to using and make sure you have the latest service pack for your version of Medisoft.

No, just the hot fix which contains important fixes to the reports. I don't recall any fixes to MediUtils in that.

Do you have any other suggestions? I really don't want to have set up all these patients and insurance companies in this new practice.

Create a new practice and then use the Export/Import feature of MediUtils to copy the data from one practice to another.

Gavin, we can't even run MedUtils right now. We get this error: 'Can not start utility: error opening practice'. (Made sure no users on & scheduler shut down)
I've tried restarting ADS. Rebooted all servers. Could ADS settings make a difference?

Make sure all interfaces are stopped including PlutoServer AKA McKesson MSL Mobile API Server - if you don't use Medisoft Mobile, this service can be stopped permanently and will free up one license.

Gavin, I don's see "McKesson MSL Mobile API" in Services. Checked both servers(Application & Database) and both PC's.
