Noob question - correcting a claim

Post by drk » Mon Nov 03, 2014 10:56 am

I am trying to correct a claim in Medisoft v19, but am unable to find a box where I can enter the orginal Payer Claim ID of the rejected claim. The Frequency is 7 (Replace a prior claim). Help!

Are these electronic or paper claims?

Try entering this on the patient's case -> Medicaid and Tricare tab -> Original Reference.

I will try that -- I spoke with the clearinghouse and they informed me that the original payer claim ID goes into Loop 2300, Segment CLM05-3, Item REF. I am going to try it out with some dummy data if Medisoft does that correctly. Thanks for your help.

Thank you Gavin, that was *exactly* the spot to enter the original claim number -- The text in this box shows up in LOOP 2300, Segment REF F8, as it should.
