v20 and 2015 Presale Announcement

Post by Gavin Walker » Thu Jul 10, 2014 2:47 pm

I hope your summer is going well!

On August 1, Medisoft v20 and Lytec 2015 will go on presale. Due the start of the presale, Medisoft v19 and Lytec 2014 price lists will expire on July 31. This means if you are on Medisoft v17 or Lytec 2012 then you will have to purchase at the New price after 7/31/2014. If you are on Medisoft v18 or Lytec 2013 then you will only get a 15% trade in credit instead of a 70% trade in credit after 7/31/2014.

Why is this important? If you are only a couple of versions back, and have been holding back on your ICD-10 upgrade, and are only upgrading to have ICD-10 capabilities, then your cost of upgrading will greatly increase after August 1. If you are already on v19 or 2014, then you can still use that to implement ICD-10.

Do you have a matrix of what the new features are in Version 20? And any idea when Version 20 will be released?

McKesson intends to include an iPad app that will allow the patient to check themselves in and enter their own insurance information. They are targeting a late fall release. McKesson has not firmly committed to anything, so the features of the release and time frame can be changed.

And the insurance info would go from the iPad app into Medisoft? If so, I think that's a TERRIBLE idea. Most patients would enter incorrect insurance info, the offices would have to recheck the info and then correct incorrect entries. The Medisoft Mobile app is great, but this new app idea does not sound very good.

I'm sure you'll post more info when you receive new updates about Version 20.

Thanks,
Steve

The intention is there will be a review bin similar to unprocessed transactions for the doctor's staff to review before saving as an actual patient in Medisoft. Details on how the iPad app will work can be changed before McKesson releases Medisoft version 20.

I don't know about this...I had the impression v19 still had significant glitches and problems, given what I read in the forums, so that pushing v20 now was iffy.

Have there been sufficient SP's or patches to fix all the v19 glitches that have come up since last December and make that version more stable, or am I reading it all wrong and v19 is solid as a rock?

If you install v19 sp1 AND the hotfix, that takes care of the majority of the issues.

Thanks for the update and email about the sale.

How can Medisoft release a price for v20 yet not bother to release what the features will be? That's horrible marketing on their part.
