Hi! Guys, I am trying to run a report in Medisoft v17 to get numbers for meaningful use attestation. I need to get the number of patients seen in a 3month period and the totals broken down by Insurance Carrier. I see that the Day Sheet gives me that info but only the totals. How do I get the breakdown for each insurance carrier. Thanks in advance.

You should run this report out of your EMR. Are you using Medisoft Clinical?

No. I am using Springcharts for EMR.

You should have a SpringCharts meaningful use (MU) compliance report as part of SpringCharts Analytics. Do you have SpringCharts v12 release 2?

Yes I do have Springcharts V12 Release2. What I need is a Medicaid eligibility report, i.e. number of Medicaid patients seen/Total number of patients seen, in a 3 month period. The MU report does give me the total number of patients but not by Insurance breakdown. Is there another report in Springcharts that gives me this info?

I think what you need is under Reports -> Analysis Reports -> Electronic Claims Analysis Summary

The default includes both paper and electronic claims. Just run this for the payer and date range in question.

I have looked at that report. Unfortunately Medicaid will not accept this report because, they want the total number of patients seen not the number of encounters(because the same patient may be seen more than once in that time frame) or claims filed.

The only report that captures the total number of patients is the day sheet, but it does not break it down by insurance. Anyway to modify that report?

I have a custom Patient Census by Carrier report that I wrote. It is just like the Patient Census by Carrier report that comes with Medisoft except I also added a date range selector to filter those patients by transaction date from. It is yours "as is" for $45. It requires Medisoft Advanced or Network Pro. If you buy your Medisoft v19 upgrade from us, I will throw the report in for FREE. We also can setup the interface between SpringCharts and Medisoft including charge passing back into Medisoft.

(1) Sounds like that report might work for us. Just to confirm, this report will give me a list and total of all the patients seen in the office during a specific time frame and break the totals down by insurance? Does it do just the totals for the entire practice or has the option of selecting an individual provider?
(2) I am interested in the Medisoft upgrade and the Medisoft-Springcharts interface. in fact my office manager(Dawn Lawler) contacted you last week and got the quotes. I will have her get back in touch with you.

No, just like the Patient Census by Insurance Carrier report, this just gives you a count of patients by insurance carrier and provider. The only addition is we added a date range selection by transaction begin date.

Hi Gavin,
I know this is an old post, wondering if there is a report in Medisoft now that does this? My provider wants a count of patient encounters by insurance carrier for a month at a time.
Thanks! Deb

PS: Why do I get logged out now every time? Even though I check remember me, I have to log in each time I visit. This never happened before....

You might try Electronic Claims Analysis Summary. Despite the name, it will also count paper claims.

That only gives me the option of the choosing the billing date, not the date of service. The billed date is not always the same month as the date of service. Any other suggestions or options?
Thanks!

If you have Medisoft Advanced or Network Pro, then you can try the Insurance Visit List under Reports -> Medisoft Reports -> Plus Pack.
