Medisoft v19 and Lytec 2014

Post by Gavin Walker » Wed Oct 02, 2013 10:04 am

With the release of Medisoft v19 and Lytec 2014, the Communication Manager interface application is being replaced by the McKesson Practice Interface Center (MPIC) v2.0. MPIC v2.0 will include interfaces to PPConnect (Practice Partner, Lytec MD and Medisoft Clinical). MPIC v2.0 will NOT include interfaces to third-party EMRs, including SpringCharts and MediNotes. MedTech has developed MPIC v2.0 interfaces for SpringCharts, MediNotes, and other EMRs. Please private message me for more details.

Medisoft v19 and Lytec 2014 will both support the option to print version 02/12 of the CMS 1500 form, which is being mandated by Medicare effective April 1, 2014.

The legacy claim form printing application known as Just Claims is no longer being developed or sold. It will not be updated to comply with the new version 02/12 CMS 1500 form requirements.

With the release of Lytec 2014, Advanced Reporting will no longer be offered as an optional component. The reports Executive Collection Summary and Executive Practice Summary, previously only available to purchasers of Advanced Reporting, are included in all versions of Lytec 2014.

We have developed many custom reports using Advanced Reporting in Lytec 2011. What does McKesson expect customers to do if they want to upgrade? How will we be able to use our custom reports within Lytec the way we do now? I can't believe they just dropped this feature and left customers out in the cold with no options.

Sorry, yes this feature was dropped...but you can still purchase Crystal Reports separately. There is no reason why you can't purchase Crystal Reports 2013 and continue to develop your own reports. You'll just need to jump through an extra hoop or two to get them to run.

Thank you for the response and suggestion. We can get Crystal for development, but how would we deploy them to our 30 users in an easy and controlled manner as we do now with Advanced Reporting? With Advanced Reporting, we can control which users have access to which reports, and they can access their reports easily from within Lytec and select a practice to run them on.
What does McKesson recommend to replace that functionality?

I just put in an enhancement request to McKesson to see if they have a better answer. We can custom program a solution for you, but we charge $95/hour. Private message me if you want to do this. I'll let you know if McKesson has a better solution.
