Is there a way to export my patient list to an excel or csv document, to 1 row per patient?

Yes, in Medisoft Advanced or higher, go to Lists -> Patients/Guarantors and Cases -> Right-Click on the Patient List -> Print Grid, then add the fields you want to export. Click OK -> Select Export Data to a CSV File -> Click Start.

Nothing is happening when I click on "Patient/Guarantors and Cases", the program doesn't respond. Any ideas?

That should open the Patient List window. There is a program option in Medisoft to auto-open the Patient List on start-up. If that is the case, then the window is already open and you can start by Right-Clicking on the Patient List.

I know this is an old post, but does this also export patient balances to a CSV. I need a CSV file to import patient balances into our clients software. It uses their demographics to match up patients so I also need the demographics.

Ok I figured out how to export the file and also upload into my providers system..but one huge glitch....they will only except it if the Gender/sex field is indicated with a "F" or "m" and medisoft spells out the entire word "male" "female"...it is very counter productive to have to go into the file and retype every gender to the intial , hopefully there is a way to make medisoft do this or a really fast way to edit it in excel.

I guess you found the Patient Reference Balance and Patient Remainder Balance fields? You will want to go into file maintenance and do all the recalc balances options before doing the export. Medisoft is notorious for leaving these fields calculated wrong in the database.

There are several ways to go about doing what you want to do. You could write a formula in Excel to convert Male to M and Female to F.

Is there a way to have only recent patients printed? instead of a whole list?

You'll probably need something custom for that. Maybe based on last service date.

Yes I can. Will HL7 files work? Medisoft v21 has a utility to extract to HL7 files and you can exclude based on last seen, inactive, or deceased.

Hi Gavin, is there an option make a custom filter or do you have to use one of those three?
