posting payments

i am trying to post payments and if by accident i put in a different number then what should be there it sticks there? is there no way to change the number? It keeps popping up no matter if i back space or use the delete key other then getting out of the whole thing is there anyway to fix the problem if i make a mistake

sorry i meant when i am posting payments if by accident i hit 39.00 instead of say 39.02 i cant seem to get the 39.00 off

It looks like you are talking about a $ amount field, but which one? There is the payment column, adjustment column, etc. Are you talking about deposit entry or transaction entry?
