Product Roadmap

Post by Gavin Walker » Fri Aug 12, 2011 1:13 pm

Medisoft Service Pack 2 recently became available, which includes changes to the installers to reduce the install time to an average of around three hours. For Lytec, Service Pack 1 is still being tested and the same results are expected. McKesson's product director, Tony, also showed a new system monitoring tool called “Watchdog.” This tool has helped solve several issues with Communications Manager and PP Connect. It is viewed as a stop-gap measure while a replacement strategy is developed.

Areas of focus for the coming year are as follows:
  • • Make PPS Clinical solutions easy to install/upgrade
    • Ensure that the interfaces to our products are stable
    • Create an easy methodology for configuring and maintaining interfaces (labs, devices, HL7 etc.)
    • Ensure compliance with all upcoming regulatory requirements
    • Enhance the stability of the current products
The areas of focus for Practice Partner during the coming year are as follows:
  • • Smooth out the rough edges
    • Comply with regulatory requirements
    • Enhance performance
    • Achieve interoperability
    • Simplify the product
Finally, McKesson product management discussed was the need to move all billing and e-prescribing customers to Practice Partner 9.5.2, due to be GA in August, because it is the ANSI 5010 release.
