Medisoft V12 SP2 and Medisoft V16 SP1

Post by bokoo143 » Wed Aug 03, 2011 2:59 pm

Is Medisoft V12 SP2 and Medisoft V16 Sp1 compliant with ansi 5010? We don't want to upgrade as the cost is an issue right now. Any new cost will probably push the owner away from Medisoft toward EHealthFiles.

We are currently using Medisoft V12 SP2 and Relay Health at one location. How do I configure Relay Health to submit Ansi 5010?

At two other locations, we are using Medisoft V16 SP1. We currently use PC-ACE Pro Part B to file Medicare and Medicaid and Post n Track for all other electronic claims and printing HCFAs for the rest.

Thanks so much for always being so helpful to us all.

The word I am currently getting from RelayHealth is they will require ANSI 5010 by 1/1/2012. You will need Medisoft v17 or higher for ANSI 5010.

For your other practices, if you are submitting claims with PC-Ace, then technically you need to upgrade PC-Ace to a version that supports ANSI 5010. If you upgrade to Medisoft v17 you will not need to use PC-Ace anymore because Medisoft can submit direct to Medicare and read their remittance files without any additional software. It is kind of complicated to setup, so you may have to work with a Medisoft re-seller who can set this up for you.

To help you out, we are currently running a 15% sale on Medisoft.

I am still on V14 SP2 Medisoft Patient Accounting and I know it's definitely time to think v5010. As I understand, in order to comply with the new v5010 we need V17, or higher. Is there a way to upgrade from V14 to V17, or do I have to purchase completely new v17 to comply? What would be the best option for me?
Thanks,
Ivana

Medisoft v17 is the first version of Medisoft that is ANSI 5010 compliant. Depending on how you are doing electronic billing you "might" if your clearinghouse can convert your claims to ANSI 5010 for you on the back end. If your pay-to address is a PO Box and you are doing any electronic billing then you should upgrade to v17. Also, if you are submitting your claims direct to the payer electronically, then you should upgrade to v17.
