When trying to send an external message to an external provider the following message appears:

'Your Contact Preference is not set to WebView or Direct E-Mail. Please edit contact preference for this referring source'.

Please advise how to set up the Contact Preference for the referring source in order to send them a message from Medisoft Clinical, as an external message (e.g. when sending medical records for transfer of care).

Hi VSharma, in Clinical go to Maintenance -> Referring Sources and in the Contact Preference field select Direct. Then fill in the direct address in the Direct field.

What does direct address of referring provider mean? is it a url?

What is the difference between Direct E-Mail and E-Mail of the referring provider? when we tried to configure provider preference as email for referring provider (instead of direct address), it gave an error message saying direct email not configured for referring provider

Direct email is a specific service for encrypted emails. Simply add the provider's regular email address and then on the Configuration screen make certain to check "Allow Web View Access", you now will need to create a Login name & password for Webview. You might want to send an email to the provider from WebView with the link to WebView & their login information.

If they have a "Direct" address, then select Direct and enter their Direct email address.
