Today, McKesson informed us that they achieved 08 CCHIT Certification by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT®) for Lytec MD and Medisoft Clinical. Lytec MD and Medisoft Clinical are both CCHIT Certified® 08 Ambulatory EHRs, additionally certified for Child Health, and meet the Certification Commission’s EHR criteria for office-based use.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 includes $19 billion to accelerate the adoption of electronic health records by physicians and hospitals and will focus on certified electronic health record solutions. While the exact provisions around the incentives and the certification requirements are not known yet, we believe that any new certification requirements will be based on the standards that have been adopted by the CCHIT.
