mrrcov99.dat file in ppart directory

Post by axolotl » Wed Aug 07, 2013 6:29 pm

Any idea what the mrrcov99.dat file is in the ppart directory? Its taking up about 59GB and has not been accessed or modified in nearly a year.

I would like to exclude this file if possible from my LiveVault backups since it is so large but will keep backing it up if it is a required file.

Thank you.

This is your formulary download. If you want to keep your drug interactions database up-to-date you should download your formulary updates every 4 months. Since this file is downloaded as part of your formulary updates, it is not a critical part of your overall backup. Consider using backup software that only backs up changed blocks of data and uses de-duplication technology to reduce the size of your backups.

Is this file safe to delete...the one located in ppart\tempfrml\. On our server it using up almost 40% of the drives storage capacity.

This file is only supposed to be temporary. This is where the formulary file is decompressed before it is moved to the data folder. For whatever reason the file was not completely decompressed or it was not moved to the data folder. You can delete it, but you should investigate why your formulary files aren't updating.
