Status of Surescripts Transaction Servers
McKesson now has a plan in place to migrate their Surescripts servers to McKesson IT’s Drohan Data Center (DDC) in Sacramento, CA. Hosting the servers at the Drohan center will allow McKesson to respond effectively and promptly to any conditions threatening the reliability of Surescripts transactions.
While the server infrastructure in McKesson's Seattle location is solid, it lacks some of the valued features of a fully functioning and dedicated data center that the Drohan facility offers. Features McKesson will immediately leverage include a robust suite of monitors and alerts that are available as a result of this move. McKesson will immediately have access to over 30 standard server monitors addressing all key aspects of the server infrastructure including CPU, disk space and RAM utilization.
In addition to these 30 monitors, McKesson will leverage a series of custom monitors targeting anomalies presented by the Surescripts application and database components housed on the servers. To ensure high levels of application and data processing uptime, the monitor alerts drive various modes and frequencies of notifications based on key thresholds established in advance.
The McKesson teams (DDC and PPS) will triage these alerts and provide notifications you as appropriate and, if feasible, ahead of any impacts.
This server move has been planned and should be complete by March 31, 2013.
