NOTIFICATION: Deactivation of legacy RXHUB pharmacies

Post by Gavin Walker » Tue May 29, 2012 4:45 pm

Starting Friday, June 1, 2012, all legacy RXHUB mail-order pharmacies will be disabled in the Practice Partner clearinghouse. After this date, when attempting to transmit to a legacy RXHUB mail-order pharmacy, a 601 error message from the Practice Partner clearinghouse will be received, indicating the pharmacy (NCPDP ID) could not be found.

Legacy RXHUB pharmacies include:
  • Express Scripts (ESI Mail Order)
    Medco
    Caremark
    PrimeMail
    Prescription Solutions
The pharmacy Send Type controls which network the transactions will go through. Legacy RXHUB mail-order pharmacies contain a Send Type of RxH. Updated pharmacy directories will contain mail-order pharmacies with Send Types which are all SS, meaning the transmissions will automatically, properly, go through the Surescripts network. Successful nightly pharmacy downloads will have updated your pharmacy directory so that the Send Type for all pharmacies is SS. Therefore, this will not affect the majority of ePrescribing users.

To verify that you have been updated to go through Surescripts, in Practice Partner Patient Records\LytecMD\Medisoft Clinical:
  • • Go to Maintenance> Tables> Pharmacies
    • Search for one of these pharmacies by name or Pharmacy ID, select the pharmacy, then click Edit
    • Verify the Send Type is SS and not RxH
    • Repeat for additional pharmacies
If the Send Type on these pharmacies still indicates RxH, most likely there is an issue causing your pharmacy download to fail. Please call Technical Support to help address this problem and/or if you have any questions or concerns related to this notification.
