extra "A" at the end of ICD-10 diagnosis codes

Post by 2020SEE » Sat Oct 24, 2015 4:42 pm

I have medisoft V.20. I did the diagnosis code mapping. Most codes are working, but for some ICD-10 code, Medisoft has automatically added an "A" behind the ICD-10 code. It does not let me edit that code to get rid of the "A". I wonder why? I will try to attach a screen capture. See 2nd line under code "H35.30A" to correspond to icd-9 "362.50" and icd-10 "H35.30"
Thank you for your help! :D

So the ICD10 is correct. That would be the right column. What has happened is there are two codes with H35.30 as the code. So it added the A to differentiate between the two. If you go to transaction entry. Type H35.30. You will most likely notice another DX code without the A. It will also probably not have an ICD9 or ICD10 code in those columns. You can actually edit the code right there and add them. Then mark the one with A inactive. The A will not go on claims if you have insurances set to ICD10 with effective date 10/1. The code column is an internal code for the system.
