How to enter an ICD-10 code into Medisoft

Post by Gavin Walker » Sun Sep 27, 2015 11:44 pm

There have been questions about how to enter an ICD-10 code into Medisoft.

After you have generated the ICD-10 codes that map to an ICD-9 code, there are still ICD-10 codes that need to be used that do not map to an ICD-9 code. To enter one, go to Lists -> Diagnosis Codes -> New and enter the ICD-10 code into both the Code field and the ICD-10 Code field. Put the ICD-10 description into both the Description field and the ICD-10 Description field. Then, click Save.

You have now setup an ICD-10 code in Medisoft.

hi
why, when i am doing exactly the above, are my diagnosis codes showing up w/ a red background and missing from my claim? my mapped icd 10s show up just fine but it's the ones that i enter that either show up in red and are missing
thanks, Ali

I've been choosing a corresponding ICD 9, then mapping it to work around the issue or entering the corresponding ICD 9 when I enter the new ICD 10

So look at a generated ICD-10 code and enter your ICD-10 like that except you don't have to fill in the ICD-9 code if there is no direct mapping back to an ICD-9 code.
