State legislation now prohibits clearing houses from sending paper claims to payers with addresses in South Carolina.

Effective June 11th, 2009, South Carolina law prohibits all clearinghouses from printing paper claims for payers located in South Carolina.

If a claim must be dropped to paper, providers will be required to print the claim in their own offices. Detailed information regarding this legislation can be found at the link below.

Is this law still in effect? I'm a SC Provider and my Clearinghouse is telling me that i can send ALL my claims to them and what can't be sent to the payors they can drop to paper for me. I mentioned this law and i was told 'oh no, all that has changed and they can send them even secondary claims. Thank you for your help
