How do you enter ICD-10 codes manually?

Post by hkl » Wed Aug 26, 2015 11:15 pm

What's the best way to enter multiple ICD-10 codes associated with one ICD-9 code manually?

After creating the ICD-10 mapping, I still have many codes that need to be added. Is it appropriate to go to Lists --> diagnosis code --> click the ICD-9 code you want to convert, then add the first associated ICD-10 code and save... but what about the other ICD-10 codes associated with this one ICD-9? Do you add a "new code", type in the same ICD-9 code and the next associated ICD-10 code and repeat until all the ICD-10 codes have been entered? Thanks.

Just go into the diagnosis code editor and create a new code for the ICD-10 code. Then repeat the code in the ICD-10 field and fill in the mapping ICD-9 code if appropriate. Keep in mind that not all ICD-10 codes map to an ICD-9 code, so it may not be appropriate to fill in anything in the ICD-9 field.
