Changes effective October 1, 2008 to the ICD-9-CM codes

Information on diagnosis code changes effective October 1, 2008 is currently available. We will have Codes on Disk and Encoder Pro updated soon. Please review the changes so that you can submit diagnosis codes valid on the date of service.
Information on ICD-9-CM codes, including links to listings of codes and changes, is also available on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services website at: http://www.cms.hhs.gov/ICD9ProviderDiagnosticCodes/.
In compliance with HIPAA code set regulations, insurance will begin accepting these new codes for dates of services on or after October 1, 2008 and deleted codes will no longer be accepted for dates of service on or after October 1, 2008.
